Recently, regulation has become a topic more and more popular as cryptocurrencies and blockchain go viral around the world. But we are facing one big problem. The government. Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are facing difficulties in the terms of the law. When a rather new technology like blockchain comes out, they usually have a hard time with the current law. Things needs to be changed. We all know a law friendly enough will help the industry to grow but how? What does the industry need in long term? At what level should governments intervene? What are the economic effects to the industry if the government steps in? As from the company side of view, people are saying blockchain will revolutionize companies and economies. If that is the case, companies should rush into blockchain industries and see how they can adopt this technology. But is blockchain technology mature enough for everybody? What should we be aware of before adopting blockchain into our business? In this session, ABS plans to discuss the current regulatory and adoption of blockchain into business.
Governments, especially in democratic countries, are well known for their slow pace of making the laws. In this rapidly changing industry, any regulation that cannot keep up with the pace is a barrier of the industry. Some governments don't understand the industry and carries out a set of law that could just kill this newly born industry. The law or a simple guideline doesn’t even exists in some countries, which left the industry in the middle of nowhere, not knowing what to do and what not to. Is Self-Regulatory Organization the answer to this problem? What more can SROs do besides self-regulate? ABS invited government delegates from countries with SRO to share their view and how do they keep up with the speed of industry evolution, making sure that blockchain industry in their country are well implemented.

This will definitely raise attention from the government towards crypto and digital assets. But will it work? If they do, what impacts will national cryptocurrencies bring to our current monetary system? If not, why? ABS invites top-notch speakers familiar with the current monetary system, from the banks and central banks to give us a notion what the future world will be if token economy prevails.

Blockchain could be the cure to most social problems in the world, it can also change the music and art industries fundamentally. Some trying to apply digital identity to solve international refugees' identities problem. Some trying to use blockchain to solve the intransparency of donation. Some even use blockchain to establish a platform where musicians can gain the payment they deserve. Blockchain is a fundamental technology, meaning it offers us a brand new possibilities in the socio-economic system. ABS plans to discuss in depth about the social impact brought by blockchain.
Although bitcoin and blockchain has gain significant momentum in the past year but is still at a rather early stage. The technology is still too young to keep up with the pace and the urge of business application. The short term bubble of cryptocurrencies still awaits to be adjusted. Governments are still trying to adjust to the revolution blockchain brings. There are still many barriers ahead. For example, the cross-chain problem, the scalability problem of bitcoin, the management problem of the trend of pump and dump, and the self regulation problem and exchanges. ABS invites top speakers from the blockchain industry to share their views on these certain issues, and portray the future of blockchain.
Twenty years ago, Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee invented the world wide web. It changed the world in a way that no one at that time would ever expected. It created a platform for people to speak freely and maybe anonymously. As time went by, people started to realize there are a lot of flaws with internet and cannot be solved within the system. Twenty years later today, blockchain came out. Just as revolutionary as Internet, blockchain is said to be a game changer. What kind of changes would blockchain bring to our society? What kind of application would bring much social impact? ABS focus on not the applications that can make money but the application that can bring some impacts, or even change the world. We invited speakers from these applications and those with great visions.
