Born and raised in Greater China and Southeast, Allen started his entrepreneur journey since high school. Over the years he has hands-on experience of co-founding, spinning-off, pivoting, scaling and exiting multiple ventures. He was nominated for Entrepreneur of Year in University of Southern California, Entrepreneur-in-Residence of ZhenFund, and won Best Start-up in HKICT Awards.

In 2015, Allen was recruited by Hong Kong based private equity group AID Partners. Covering primarily frontier technologies, Allen invested approximately US$90m across United States and Israel, including US$30m investment into Zoox’s first institutional round, US$6m investment into
biotech unicorn Intarcia, US$24m acquisition of cancer analytics start-up GeneSort, seed investment in FinTech unicorn Dave, and US$25m subscription of Telegram’s first round token sale. In addition, Allen handled US$250m worth of M&A and JV operations in Asia.

In Q4 2018, Allen left AID Partners to start FinTech company EVG with the backing from a consortium of renowned public companies and family offices across Greater China, US, Japan and Korea. Led by a multi-national team of internet and finance veterans, EVG focuses on building next generation infrastructures for digital and alternative assets. Allen has been advisor to multiple renowned blockchain projects including SEBA, LightNet and Flow Protocol.
